Garage labs require gear and knowledge and time. Automation labs require significant infrastructure capital to boot up and service fees will be monstrous unless larger market forms. Cant have a real bioeconomy without both. Lower the barriers to entry or GTFO.

Open science sucks. If I could gift the world anything, it’s to not have to care about this infuriating, thankless, time-wasting endeavor. It’s rife with individual interests, both from detractors and advocates. It’s rampant with vibes and point-scoring as much as substance.

Ahh, visiting other labs. Back in my youth, we would just go places and do things. Nobody asked questions, MTAs and TTOs did not exist, and science proceeded 10x more rapidly. Today everybody frets about IP rights which will never generate any $$$, and everything stands still.
