Time for some fun and games in the archives with Wallis's Wonders of Nature board game. This particular game was owned by Margaret Pullen of Sutton Courtenay and has since found a home with us. #FridayFun #EYAFunAndGames

In the Searchroom recently was this lovely brochure for the Berystede Hotel, Ascot, from the 1920s. We particularly loved this map of the local area with all the wonderful illustrations 😍 📷 PS/WIC26/1

This week we had an exciting delivery, the boards for 'Our River Thames' exhibition arrived! Designed by Messrs. Dash & Dare and printed by Hobs Repro, we're thrilled with how they've turned out. Godric's approved them and can't wait to see them in the exhibition.

On this day in 1944, the Normandy landings known as D Day began. Eric Simonds wrote this letter to his friend Richard Quarry commenting that 'we are all agog and praying that things have gone right...One feels that so much is at stake in the next few days'.

The Berkshire Family History Society conference on Saturday was held at Wokefield Park. We brought along a printout of this sale catalogue, dated 1936. It was nice to chat with some attendees who had memories of the estate throughout the years.

Last Monday we hosted a private viewing of our new exhibition 'Our River Thames'. It was wonderful for people to finally see the completion of months of hard work and hopefully learn something new about the River Thames. Come along and see the installed version for yourself now!
