Super on paid parental leave is a huge step towards achieving gender equality, reducing the gender pay gap & will make a genuine difference. The SDA has campaigned for this for many years alongside other unions and we’re proud to see this change for the better become a reality.

Big news for young workers today ! The SDA is filing our application in the Fair Work Commission to remove junior rates for 18 & 19 year old workers in retail, fast food & pharmacy. Our message is clear: if you’re of adult age you should be paid an adult wage.

We’ve officially passed new laws that can give police the power to scan people for knives in crowded areas like shopping centres and train stations.

ANZAC Day is the only Public Holiday with half-day trading restrictions. So we're changing that. It means veterans and their families can commemorate the day without having to run off to work at 1PM. It just makes sense.
