A huge honour to co-chair this vital report on civility in public life for #JoCoxCommission . There is NO place for abuse and intimidation in politics. Great to see so much support for this today - now we must campaign to get the recommendations put in place. The Jo Cox Foundation
Thank you Baroness Chakrabarti and Gabby Bertin for powerful interventions on why we need judicial discretion for the release of rape survivors' counselling records. How many more victims are forced to choose between therapy or justice before Govt decides to act? #VictimsBill
I worked closely with Estelle Morris on the Lords Public Services Committee - which she chairs. Such a decent woman with so much talent. EstelleMorris Matt Chorley

Great hearing Gabby Bertin on BBC Woman's Hour talking about our #KeepCounsellingConfidential campaign win! We hope this much-needed change in law will better protect survivors' counselling notes, raising the legal threshold for when survivors’ notes can be requested by the police.
Thank you BBC Woman's Hour for having me on. And thank you to the formidable Rape Crisis England & Wales Centre for Women's Justice EVAW Coalition Rights of Women for their year long campaign to keep rape counselling notes confidential. We did it 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Credit also to Ministry of Justice and Alex Chalk KC
An important change was announced today by Ministry of Justice - victims' counselling notes will now be better protected during criminal investigations. Thanks to EVAW Coalition Rights of Women @rapecrisiseandw and Gabby Bertin for your tireless work to make this a reality.
Thank you for having me and the team. A brilliant visit and so much we can work together on Internet Watch Foundation (IWF)
I am absolutely delighted that the government has announced they will criminalise depiction of strangulation and suffocation in porn. This was one of my review’s major recommendations. Many more to go but a very good start. 🙌🏻👊🏻Jess Asato MP Ministry of Justice EVAW Coalition CEASE UK
