DPS spelling bee champ Frank Dumas received quite the surprise this morning when Dr. Pascal Mubenga, Superintendent, showed up at Bethesda Elementary to present him with a bike for his hard work! Frank will participate in the national Scripps spelling bee on June 2.

Due to the threat of inclement weather, we are postponing tonight's events. Please get home safely. The new date and time will be shared soon.

Dr. Pascal Mubenga, PhD. stopped by Bethesda earlier this week to bring our Spelling Bee Winner Frank a new bike and wish him as well he prepares for his trip to the National Spelling Bee in D.C.!

We have had great fun this month patterning with @lifeandscience! Yesterday, they came out to our first grade tutoring students to do some Robotics! They had a great time!

In honor of Eid al-Fitr, school is closed Monday, May 2nd. Eid al-Fitr is celebrated to commemorate the end of the fasting month of Ramadan and takes place over three days. Eid al-Fitr means “the celebration of breaking the fast.” Wishing our Bethesda families a Glorious Eid!

DPS elementary student artwork will be on display May 2-21 at The Streets at Southpoint, located at 6910 Fayetteville Road. We are excited to see such wonderful pieces of art on display! You can view the work throughout the mall during regular business hours.

Our 3-5 grade safety patrol club helped guide parents to classrooms yesterday during our math day event! We are so proud of their maturity during it!

Monday night we hosted our Mother's Day Paint and Chew! We had so many mothers and mother figures come out and have a blast painting with their student!

Our fourth and kinder students had a great experience at the NC Aquarium at FF!

This morning, Bethesda’s Safety Patrol/Flag Team raised the flag half staff as they stood in solidarity with the students, staff, and families at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. #robbelementary

Earlier this week, we held a school wide talent show! Students worked so hard preparing for the talent show and it was great to see the variety of talents our students have!
