And many of these women have kids & the kids help in varying degrees of providing care but it always impacts their lives as well #kidsarecaregiverstoo & they are mostly alone b/c well "their kids" & many adults don't realize how much it effects them ❤ in positive & negative ways

(1). On #CaregiverDay I want to share some facts on #youngcarers from my research over the years. 1. In Canada, 15-24year olds represent the 3rd largest caregiver cohort (1.25 million). Factoring in all those ch/youth >15 yrs of age, the figure is likely closer to 2 million.

Congrats to geography unc grad students Michelle Padley, Mike Hawkins and Tong Qiu on winning summer research awards! Michelle received a Pre-Dissertation Exploration Award from @unccgi, and Mike and Tong both received Summer Research Fellowships from UNC Graduate School ✏️
