A decision on whether South Yorkshire's buses should be brought back under public control will be announced later. It's after Mayor Oliver Coppard held one of the biggest franchising consultation exercises ever undertaken in this country. Over 12-weeks 7600 people had their say.

South Yorkshire is set to announce today that it will bring buses back into public control. I started work on the campaign that became Better Buses for South Yorkshire in summer 2019. It took two mayors, two trades councils, a lot of passengers & a lot of stubbornness. But six years on we won 🚌
