The Iranian parliament approves the closure of the Street of Hormuz, throttling 20% of all oil transports, likely skyrocketing oil prices. This comes after reports that Russia was on its last legs economically. Putin will rejoice. Trump has just refuelled the war against Ukraine.

As an aside (& make of that what you will), Starmer said he was informed about the US strike against Iran in advance. Germany's Merz is quoted saying he was informed immediately after it happened.
