Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development is participating in the Preventing and Responding to Gender-Based Violence course taking place at K-Hotels, Entebbe. This week-long training (16th–20th June) is being conducted by a team from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre, based in Ghana.

The KAIPTC UN Women Uganda Kicking off the training, Dr. Nakafero shed light on the current trends of GBV in Uganda. “GBV in Uganda is driven by gender inequality and poverty, and is deeply rooted in cultural norms making the fight against it complex and often met with resistance.” she stated.
