First games of the season for the 1st and 2nd XIs saw the 1st XI beat Barnards Green 2nds by 133 runs. Asked to bat on a used deck in the rain, Bewdley were indebted to 90 from Jamie Boyle to take them to an above par 220. Early wickets from overseas Sam Wilson and (1/2)

(2/2) Robbie Combes set the tone, and the game was finished off by Tom Odell (2/17) and Jack Mills (4/9) The 2nd XI were second best against Harvington 1st XI, being bowled out for 78, the only shining light was a 24 from Austin Ball. Harvington knocked them off 3 down.

The 1st XI travel to old rivals Bewdley Cricket Club tomorrow in Worcestershire County League Div 1, with the match being live streamed on YouTube. In 18 previous league meetings since 2000, Bromyard have 7 wins, Bewdley have 5 wins, 3 games have been drawn & 3 games abandoned. #uptheyard #statattack

The first XI made it 2 wins from 2, as the beat Bromyard down at Lower Park. Asked to bat first, the hosts lost 3 wickets early, however a 72 partnership between skipper Gariff (36) and Harris (34) steadied the ship. 4 wickets for 18 runs brought Mills (53) and Wilson (26) 1/4

(3-12) and Morris (4-12). The second XI suffered a 43 run defeat in the reverse fixture at Flaggoners Green. Having won the toss and inserted the opposition, Bewdley got off to a great start with early wickets from Chris Darby (4-21). Ted Mauger got in on the act with his 3/4

off spin claiming 4-38. However a 72 10th wicket partnership between M. Modi (29) and D. Mills (24) took the total to a respectable 182. The response was centred around captain Connor Franklins 62, with 3 fours and 3 sixes, however apart from Allan Moss’ 23 he lacked support 3/4

8 scores under 10. The first XI travel the 400 miles to Bartestree next Saturday, and the 2nds host Astwood Bank 3rds.
