Final book in #WoolworthsGirls series is published soon, by Erith-born author Elaine Everest who sadly died last year. She was inspired by stories about WWII at the Erith branch of Woolworths where she worked as a teen. Pictured: Woolworths Sidcup, Welling, Erith, Bexleyheath.

It’s Friday night and it’s time for dinner. What would a meal out in #Erith have been like in 1965? Here is the menu of the Wheatley Arms Hotel to whet the appetite! This photo of the hotel dates from 1965 - Christ Church is on the right. #LocalHistory #Dinner

The Friends of the Old English Garden at Danson Park are holding an Open Day on Sunday 11 May 10am to 3pm to mark the group’s 10th anniversary. They do a fantastic job to make this formal garden aspect of the park so beautiful. #CelebratingBexley

What excitement to be had at the Bexley Fair in 1846 with a match of gingling, whipping the balls from the hole, contention up the pole, fireworks of golden rains and a flight of saucissons. #EYAFunandGames #ExploreYourArchive

It's Friday night and where else would you go in 1962 but the Crayford Town Hall with its amazing glitter ball? On Friday 18 May it was Rock 'n' Twist night, and if that wasn't enough, on Saturday 19 May there was non-stop dancing until 11.30pm! #LocalHistory #dancing

It was a pleasure to work with the team at the Holiday Inn Bexley on the history display for their open day. The Black Prince - a well-known landmark on the A2 junction - holds many memories: jazz music, weddings and people who have worked there over the years. Holiday Inn by IHG
