This #InternationalWorkersDay FLEX stands with all workers facing exploitation. We especially highlight the migrant domestic workers still fighting for their basic rights. All migrants need work visas which mean they can leave exploitation and access rights in practice.

Rejecting visas from entire nations is discriminatory and racist - many of our clients come here to study, but also find themselves in need of sanctuary. Their claims should be assessed on a case by case basis, anything else is simply racism. theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/m…

In need of capital to rebuild, Syrian men are staying in neighbouring countries to work while their wives and children head home. Read more ā¤µļø opendemocracy.net/en/beyond-traf…

Some Syrian families are phasing their return in an unusual way. The women and children head back (some to live in refugee camps) while men stay behind in Turkey and Lebanon to save money for rebuilding. From me and Mahmoud Abo Rass šŸ‘‡

You could not find a better example of racism in action on a world stage than this. Trump closed down the US refugee system entirely, and then made a fast track exception for white people who aren’t actually refugees… nytimes.com/2025/05/09/wor…

Cutting visa access will simply drive more people into dangerous irregular migration. Irregular Migration is a symptom of a restrictive border regime. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction… Will we ever step back & make migration. work for everyone?

Two decades of deals and hundreds of millions of pounds, but the UK hasn’t ever stopped crossings – or deaths. Read the full explainer on the state of UK migration here ā¤µļø Beyond Slavery opendemocracy.net/en/beyond-traf…

Love this righteous anger Absolutely right - Labour voters don’t want hate mongering on migration. We want Labour to take care of the elderly & disabled in our society. Labour is losing because of their cuts. & kicking migrant care workers is all they have to make up for that.

These three families decided to return just days after al-Assad fell. But finding work in Syria was out of the question, so the men stayed behind to save up for rebuilding, and the women and children went without them. From me and Mahmoud Abo Rass šŸ‘‡
