I’m very encouraged by the E-MOTIVE Trial results released today at #IMNHC2023 to treat postpartum hemorrhage, the #1 cause of maternal mortality. This new approach led by Uni of Birmingham and World Health Organization (WHO) could drastically improve women’s chances of surviving childbirth globally.

Proud beyond words of the work of colleagues from Uni of Birmingham @unibirm_MDS @IMSR_UoB @UoB_IAHR Partnering with the World Health Organization (WHO) and Gates Foundation , implementation of the intervention would have huge impact .



Funded by Gates Foundation, the E-MOTIVE Trial cluster randomised trial showed an immense 60% reduction in severe postpartum haemorrhage after vaginal delivery, reducing the risk of haemorrhage-related maternal death NEJM #ICTD2023 tinyurl.com/ydn86mbz
