Bhaskar Kumar Med student told me yesterday how one trust assigns numbers to them. The number is on their badge rather than their name. I ask anyone who sees this in their trust to call it out. It’s dehumanising and it’s not ok.

There’s no issue with hospital CEOs earning £200-300k, but when doctors want to start on more than £14.09/hour, suddenly everyone loses their mind and the debate becomes fraught with moral and ethical concerns from people who can’t see they’re being taken to the cleaners.

His wife is Consultant Gastroenterologist, not a GP as the article says. She is also a much valued colleague and my heart goes out to her, their 3 children and their friends and family. Worcestershire Acute NHS

We know it’s easy to feel powerless. But you can help, families in #Turkey and #Syria right now. At this critical time, any donation you can afford will make a difference. #DEC #BritishRedCross

Any strikes must be seen in broader context – years of underfunding have limited our ability to provide safe & effective cancer care. Crucial that Govt addresses recruitment & retention. Lets back our junior professional colleagues who are the backbone of our health service. Far too long they’ve been ignored, undervalued and mistreated. One day they may be looking after us. Like it or not they are our future.

In Afghanistan, over 28 million people face starvation, while little children like this boy are forced to work on the streets to put bread on the table. Where is the humanity. This is soul-shattering. We can't stay silent.

Anyone who claims that the lack of DiTs during the #juniordoctorstrikes will be difficult is right - IT’S MEANT TO BE… THEIR WORTH NEEDS TO BE RECOGNISED It is unconscionable that DiT pay and employment standards have been degraded so far leading to them needing to strike.

Dear Mr Barclay et al. Reasons our junior doctors need to strike: 1. Inadequately paid 2. They move job to job and end up on wrong tax code 3. They get a pitiful study leave budget 4. 5 or 6 yrs of med school but treated like children by medical staffing. They are the future

Rob has insight into what makes for a better job & how to maintain interest & morale amongst colleagues. He and his team took incredibly taxing + difficult to recruit into ED roles (SHO to Reg to Senior) making them enjoyable + highly sought after. ⬆️ quality & retention
