Happened to be near a patch of land in Aarey Colony (Plus Code 4VQF+X5X Mumbai) recently, reportedly under the Forest Department. Speaking with locals, I learned that trees were supposedly planted here by the department. 1/n

However, the reality on the ground today is stark: not a single surviving tree was visible. 2/n

Given that this land falls within Aarey Colony and is under the purview of the Forest Department, one can't help but question if this was intended to be part of the compensatory afforestation efforts promised by the government in lieu of the trees felled for the metro carshed 3/n

Transplantation is a scam. Several Twitter pages promote tree transplanting by showing pictures of shifting trees, but they don’t have the guts to show the pictures of the trees condition 5 years later.

Of the counted / monitored tree count this is the result ! Who is responsible for this mess ?
