The events of the last few months have shown how ludicrous a concept a monarchy is. No human is somehow better than any other simply by right of birth. We should not be bowing and scraping to these people any more, nor funding their lavish lives. #NotMyKing

Physiotherapy and rehab is an essential part of critical care - I support their right to fair pay and can’t quite believe it’s come to this for another group of healthcare staff #cspfairpay #rehabiscritical

This is such an important message, and one I have repeated over and over to new colleagues and senior registrars looking for jobs. The job is frequently rubbish and it will wear you down. Your colleagues are the only ones who really understand how you feel. Pick good ones.

Digging this tweet up from the archives. I'm working the night shift tonight because, once again, this Conservative government doesn't know how to treat a group of vital professionals. #JuniorDoctorsStrike

Outrageous scenes of cops arresting anti-monarchy protestors and stealing their placards So we are not allowed to show public opposition to a bloke being crowned head of state for having been born into unimaginable wealth while ppl line up at food banks and schools fall apart

A few years ago, with the country in dire economic straits and people going hungry, North Korea installed an unelected, hereditary ruler in a ceremony costing hundreds of millions. Peaceful protest was banned and objectors locked up. Oh wait, that’s London this morning.

So proud of our wonderful local ICM doctors celebrating #FFICM here - it’s not been an easy time to be in intensive care (or medicine generally) but here’s a group that walked right through some notably horrible years with us, reminding us the future can be brighter 😊

As my hospital approaches the launch of our new EPR, this rings more and more true. I've been using computers since learning BASIC on a Commodore VIC20. I didn't have to be trained to use Windows, or Word, they just work. But the EPR is just so unintuitive I need training!

Ambulances can’t get to dying people because they’re stuck outside of hospitals full of patients we could discharge if we just had more carers in the community, so I’m delighted that the government has taken decisive action to ban these carers from living with their families.
