Surprised the media hasn’t called out -these aren’t high profile figures. High profile figures understandably want to see what’s in the manifestos…. Before blindly going with the flow This is ref the 120 ā€˜business leaders supporting labour’ in the times and other media.

Holland-Kaye cynically took advantage of Covid to cut workers’ wages and to boost the Heathrow’s long-term profits. This wasn’t about exceptional circumstances but a cynical decision to cut wages under the cover of a heath emergency. 2/3 unitetheunion.org/news-events/ne…

The Heathrow example is why there must be a total ban on fire and rehire to prevent such a cynical practice ever being allowed to happen again. 3/3 unitetheunion.org/news-events/ne…

The Prime Minister has made clear that Labour will force pensioners to pay a retirement tax on the state pension for the first time. Sir Keir doesn’t deny it.

Take it from someone who has appeared in a few TV debates: if you can only talk about the past, like Keir Starmer did tonight, it’s because you don’t have any plan for the future. Rishi Sunak does.

I can’t count the number of times, I’ve had to personally intervene to stop the cancel culture and harassment of individuals, including Mr Farage himself. In their eagerness to remove Tory MPs, Reform are actually removing their own last line of defence. My OpEd today šŸ‘‡

Incredibly niche content: If you’re an alumni of Oxford you have until midnight to register to vote for the new Chancellor. The first time you can vote online & not in person! And it’s probably the only time you’ll get a say in the University’s direction for a decade or more.

More on why we must have the Brit ISA in size. UK Equity funds saw Ā£0.9 billion of retail outflows in July, according to the Investment Association. Total since 2016 is now Ā£56 billion. Reeves needs to do something to show she supports this market NOW. bloomberg.com/opinion/articl…

Matt is one of the most capable and thoughtful people I've ever met. No one in the UK has done more to build AI companies and drive growth. The government isn’t an expert in scaling tech or AI—but Matt is. We need more people like him, working tirelessly (and for free) to get

Oh come on Financial Times - Matt Clifford is working insanely hard to make sure the UK can capture the AI opportunity. I see how hard he works every day to make this happen, alongside his very busy role at EF. Matt is an incredible translation layer as per this quote:

Something good is brewing in the UK. A set of people - often founders - who are not up for the status quo managed decline any more. The immune response from that community to the take down piece on Matt an early sign.

In Britain we need to stop the media tearing down successful people - it is harming the country. These are the people who pull us forward! The FT piece on Matt Clifford was poor and the tech community’s response shows that maybe, maybe, the culture is changing.

When I speak to founders and ask why so many move to the US once their business reaches a certain size, so often they say they want to get away from the NEGATIVITY OF BRITISH MEDIA towards successful people. Matt Clifford is a great guy. Don’t let those bastards get you down
