It is OUT! zebrahub.org is our effort to link #scRNAseq and #microscopy based lineages reconstruction to understand development 🧬+🔬 So proud and happy of this work led with Loïc A. Royer 💻🔬⚗️ and done with a lot of Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Network folks and collaborators🙏 Thread and preprint👇

Want to build switchable dual sided-light sheet illumination with pivot-based stripe suppression using only a single moving element? Improved illumination uniformity and imaging speed compared with previous mSPIM Check it! opg.optica.org/boe/fulltext.c… Huisken lab Dr Anjalie Schlaeppi

I was looking for some larger (NOT subdiffraction) fluorescent nanodiamonds (microdiamonds) for unique, nonbleaching fidicials. Sigma-Aldrich sells 140 nm diamonds, but I found that 2 micron diamond polishing powder works amazingly!

Chilling piece in Science Magazine on the NIH's shameful role in "the China Initiative." Lots of ruined careers, looks like many weak or just wrong accusations, and apparently no due process. Many universities also should be ashamed. Great work, Jeffrey Mervis. Why did NIH do it?

I'm writing about how overwork is baked into academia, through it's culture and contracts. How it weaponises our 'passion' to make the overwork seem acceptable. I'd love to know of any examples or views people have on this topic PhD Voice - Independently Run Academic Chatter™ Dr Zoë Ayres Petra Boynton

Kay Schink and Melissa Pezzotti worked very hard last week at Synthetic Physiology Lab Università di Pavia to get version 1 of our #Daxi implementation (code name #MeXi) up and running. There is more work to do, but I'm so happy we got to this point. I am grateful to Kay Schink for the help!
