A great finale to #Migfest25 today, with 41 of the first Pink-footed Geese of the season heading south and Treecreeper while leading the Yellow Skip tour in Easington, soon followed by incredible views of the Red-necked Phalarope off Chalky Point. #Spurnbirds Spurn Bird Observatory

A little bit of #vismig from Keyingham and Burstwick, East Yorks today featured at least 62 Siskins and 4 Redpolls, mostly heading south/southwest. A few butterflies still in good condition despite the persistent winds too, including a Small Copper. #yorksbirds Butterfly Conservation Yorkshire

This Purple Sandpiper gave an incredibly close flyby as it went south along the breach around midday today. A nice surprise after a rainy morning's trek along the peninsula, with a scattering of recently-arrived Goldcrests and warblers. #Spurnbirds Spurn Bird Observatory RareBirdAlertUK

Keyingham/Burstwick birds today - gradual movement of 180+ Meadow Pipits mostly heading south/SE, small numbers of Siskins and Redpolls in various directions, Hobby, Crossbill east, Red Kite and 4 PF Geese south and hirundines catching the light nicely late afternoon. #Yorksbirds

A mad dash from the dinner table ensued when news of this Humpback Whale broke at Spurn this evening, luckily just around the corner and showing incredibly well towards dusk. Only the second time I've ever seen one, so a fantastic find by Luke Stoppard! Spurn Bird Observatory

Much quieter skies compared to yesterday but still plenty to see from the Warren at Spurn today, with a few pickings including 1400+ Meadows Pipits, Spoonbill and a cracking 1CY Caspian Gull among the south-flying birds and a Great Northern Diver west. Spurn Bird Observatory #Spurnbirds

4 of the 8 Goosanders which flew east through Tattenhoe, Milton Keynes, making up for a quiet morning of landlocked patch #vismig. Both my highest count and first September record for the area. bucks bird club Bucks Bird Alert

Not seen Small Coppers much in my home visits to the Tattenhoe area in recent years, so 5 together today made a great sight, especially being solitary in most of my past sightings here. Also a pristine Brown Argus alongside a few Common Blues yesterday and today. BC Upper Thames

A little distant but had a good view of these 2 male Crossbills, possibly accompanied by a couple of others out of view in the canopy of Back Wood, Bucks this afternoon. One of my 1st Redpolls of the season here also flying over (at least 2 in Tattenhoe yesterday). bucks bird club

No early Redwings on last night's #nocmig from Tattenhoe, Milton Keynes but Wigeon made an even better record for the patch, calling around 00.54 this morning. Only my 3rd ever record of them in the area and first in autumn. bucks bird club

It had certainly seen better days but couldn't have had a much better view, albeit fleeting, of this Pomarine Skua as it flew north along the Humber bank past Kilnsea yesterday evening. #Spurnbirds Spurn Bird Observatory

Between the Keyingham/Burstwick birds in East Yorks today, this Small Copper of the form "ab. caeruleopunctata" laying eggs was a nice distraction. The first time I've ever seen one doing this. Butterfly Conservation Yorkshire Butterfly Conservation 🦋

The treelines around Keyingham and Burstwick in East Yorks looked full of potential but delivered very little today in terms of birds but this Treecreeper provided some fantastic views, frequently calling and doing a bit of subsong. #Yorksbirds

Continuing a good run of their Spurn records this year, a Cattle Egret flew south with a Little Egret over the Humber close-in past Kilnsea this morning and later a Mistle Thrush showed nicely on its passing visit to Kew and Cliff Farm. #Spurnbirds Spurn Bird Observatory

Some highlights from very few birds along the Spurn peninsula included a Whooper Swan and 6 Crossbills heading north as they battled the winds of Storm Amy and a Wheatear finding some shelter at The Point. #Spurnbirds Spurn Bird Observatory

An improved day of movement at Spurn today, featuring 230 Meadow Pipits and 52 Skylarks south among #vismig birds from the Warren, later followed by an apparent adult "intermedius-type" Lesser Black-backed Gull over the Humber. #Spurnbirds Spurn Bird Observatory

Fairly light movement but with a nice range of species from The Warren at Spurn this morning, highlights including Hawfinch dropping in (trapped and ringed), the increasingly frequent Glossy Ibis, a Little Bunting lingering and a low Red-throated Diver. #Spurnbirds Spurn Bird Observatory

Finches took the spotlight this morning around Keyingham + Burstwick in East Yorks, featuring a Hawfinch north through the early gloom past Keyingham, 5 Crossbills (4 SE, 1 N/NW) and an arrival of Bramblings, including at least 11 briefly at Kelsey Lakes. #yorksbirds #vismig
