On July 3 2025 World Seabird Day, BirdWatch Ireland launched its Important Bird & Biodiversity Areas for seabirds in 🇮🇪 map. All info is here birdwatchireland.ie/ibas-for-seabi… including interactive map. We're calling on govt to designate these areas as SPAs & update data on existing SPAs.

SWAN member Bird Watch Ireland (BirdsMatter_ie) have published the 73 most important areas for seabirds in Ireland. 24 marine sites and 8 of the terrestrial sites are newly identified. They are calling for these IBAs to be designated as Special Protection Areas. Find out more 👇
