A massive thank you to the group of collectors who braved the wind, rain and cold last Saturday to do a bucket collection at Port Vale Football Club . Thank you also to the Club for their assistance. A total of £586 was raised which will go towards our 2024 Christmas Appeal.

Last week in Activity Club we got crafty for Christmas! At Catherine Court we made mistletoes ink pictures with the baby and toddlers, made sock snowmen with rice, wooden colourful baubles to hang on our Activity Club Christmas tree and created lots of glass glitter baubles.

What a busy two weeks Activity Club has had! We made malted milk houses, had a tasty continental Christmas breakfast, created lovely Santa Christmas Eve plates and made reindeer food. We also had a Christmas Party and went on a trip to Ash End House Children’s Farm in Tamworth.

We’re pleased to announce that our Christmas Wish Appeal 2024 raised over £9,600, all thanks to you! Your generosity brought smiles to over 40 children and their families at The Gingerbread Centre, making their Christmas wishes come true and bringing hope into the New Year.

We had some great volunteers come into The Gingerbread Centre before Christmas helping to decorate the communal spaces, sorting Christmas donations and helping wrap the gifts for the many families we supported over the festive season. We couldn’t have done it all without you!

It was messy in Activity Club this week. Everybody was covered in paint, but it was fun! In our baby and toddler session, whilst the children were enjoying themselves, parents got creative making posters. In our sessions, we often sing. A favourite song is The Wheels on the Bus.

A massive thank you to the volunteers from two of our corporate supporters, Willmott Dixon Construction Limited and Vodafone UK , who have been at Rothesay Court for the last couple of days redecorating a flat ready for a new family to move in. You were fantastic!

Families have made bread in Activity Club this week. The smell was amazing as it baked. They chose some soup to take back to their flats along with the bread, and enjoyed a lovely supper. There’s nothing nicer than warm, freshly baked, homemade bread!

It was a pleasure over the last few weeks to deliver the trophies and certificates to the fifteen teams who took part in the 2024 Swansway Group Gingerbread Enterprise Challenge. They turned £750 seed money into £8397! Thanks so much to Swansway and everybody who took part.

It's been busy in Activity Club. Our families created fantastic handprint hedgehogs to go on the proud wall. Our older children got messy in colourful shaving foam, as well as seeing who could win at air hockey. The younger ones had great fun getting messy in porridge oats!

Activity Club have been getting ready for Valentines Day. We’ve been making Love Bugs and Heart Window Suncatchers. Our young toddlers inked their hands to make cards and enjoyed Red Rice play, whilst we set up a red sensory area for our babies to explore. Happy Valentines Day!
