We currently have two self contained bedsit flats available in #Liverpool for #veterans at risk of homelessness or currently #homeless. The Block AFF supports early service leavers, those in transition & veterans. Accepting #OpFortitude & local authority referrals also.

Three homeless cases this week in Liverpol all with a combination of complex needs including mental health diagnosed, battlefield trauma, addiction & cPTSD. A combined 44 years service between all the three homeless veterans which the Block has been supporting this week.

Homeless, rejected, broken, ashamed, that’s how yesterday’s case feels. Self medicating is a common trate for veterans with complex PTSD, unfortunately this one is post treatment for his addiction and a dangerous relapse now leaves him without support & accommodation.

Always a lot more difficult to crisis manage these cases at a weekend, but we have successfully managed to accommodate and active a support plan for this homeless ex Green jacket veteran.

We have been working with three different homeless veterans in Liverpool this week all with a range of complex needs, involving addiction and complex mental health including PTSD. All three cases where street homeless during our first contact, not sofa surfing.

Due to the speed we work from the point of contact , which is much faster than average it can take a number of days before support and accommodation can be aligned by the local authorities and commissioned services. #Preventing #Suicide

We were honoured to attend a Commonwealth War Graves tour today at Anfield Cemetery. David Law looked after us all well and is incredibly knowledgeable. Beacon Counselling Trust Trek Therapy And THE BLOCK, Armed Forces Foundation also joined us.

6 Different referrals for homeless veterans or veterans at risk in Liverpool this week, requests for our support have included those from Op Nova , Op Fortitude, Tom Harrison House, Family members and a self referral.

Are all veteran Services experiencing a spike in demand? We had a peak in April but have had to use a triage system this week for the first time in 2025 in order to handle the homelessness & crisis management referrals this week.
