BMS 6th & 8th grade students carve pumpkins for the Legends by Candlelight Halloween Event at Clermont State Historic Site.

Thanks to @cultureconnectrbk and @upstate_films, 7th gr. students view and discuss the film Smoke Signals, engage with guest speaker, Sachem HawkStorm, and present original poems, as the culmination to a SS/ELA unit focused on Native American culture and early European contact.

Thanks to ENTA- Education Network for Teachers & Artists, local artists teach 7th grade students the Malagasy art of paper making during Madagascar Day.

Building school community - 8th gr. students teach traditional Malagasy dance to 2nd gr. students while others teach 1st gr. students about deforestation.

More from Madagascar Day - 6th gr. students learn about conservation and lemurs, share a traditional Malagasy meal, and contribute to a rain forest art installation.

Local preschools welcome our 8th gr. students to their classrooms to share stories, games, and crafts.

6th grade students celebrate the season with Halloween and fall-themed writing, reading, and math games.

6th gr. classes move outdoors to enrich their novel and mini research unit on gray wolves in ELA. While touring the Wolf Conservation Center (Wolf Conservation Center 🐺), students learn about efforts to breed and reintroduce wolves to the wild and meet ambassador wolves, Nikai and Silas.

BMS On Stage students joined the RHS Drama Club to See Peter and the Starcatcher at the Center for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck. With two weekends of performances left, the show comes highly recommended by our students!

BMS is proud to honor friends, family, and community members who have served in the Armed Forces this Veterans Day. Thank you to the members of Rhinebeck American Legion Post #429 Color Guard for attending, and being part of, our ceremony.

Knitters of all ages began our annual campaign yesterday! Sponsored by the BMS Art Club, students learn a new skill while uniting for a cause; knitting blankets to be donated to the neonatal and pediatric units of several local hospitals in time for the holidays.

Thanks to the generosity and engagement (raffle prizes never hurt either) of our students, BMS collected 968 books to donate to the PTSO sponsored Book Swap at CLS!
