I'm thrilled to announce that our work about Nlgn3 on AMPAR nanoclusters is out in Science Advances (science.org/doi/abs/10.112…). Kudos to students Ying Han Peking University and Ran Cao. Such a pleasant collaboration with the labs of Prof. Ai-hui Tang and @SudhofThomas Stanford University

Been thinking about the meta of science. No one who runs the lab does not obsess endlessly about what is the best next experiment to do but what about the environment and culture of how we structure intellectual discourse in our lab? Lots of thoughts on this. To be continued...

Asia parents/grandparents know this method Current Biology for hundreds of years, right? We are just too busy to take care of crying infants.😂 Always finish your data analysis before doing more experiments.🤓

I met Phillippe during 2007 IBRO course-Xi'an @ibroSecretariat. After the course, I invited him to Beijing for a short visit. "Do you have any hobbies", I asked. "I like to have a chair and just watch beautiful girls walk by" (not the exact words though). RIP Phillippe Ascher!

It is with a heavy heart we announce that our co-editor-in-chief Dr. Huaxi Xu has passed away after a brief battle with cancer. His contribution to the journal and the scientific community was unmatched. He was a great scientist, colleague, friend, and he will be missed by many.

Scientists-in-training: find the mentor that is right for you. Here are my guidelines for how to do that 🧵 1. Make sure to choose a mentor who will be deeply committed to your career; someone who will continue advising and supporting you well after your time working together.

Scientists spend too much time taking “professional selfies”. A paper from PNAS describes what it takes to be a scientist today. Key points (that I always emphasize myself): #AcademicTwitter Academic Chatter™ #research

Tomorrow will be the last day of my thirties! I panicked and was saved by labmates' early b-cakes! Carl Jung was half right "Life really does begin at forty. Up until then, you are just doing research." ! I am doing research before forty, will keep doing research after forty!😂

In this preprint, the authors reported that the secreted molecule C1ql1 adopts domain swapping to form hexamer (from trimers), and eventually modulates synaptic connectivity. A fun collaborating project.😁 researchsquare.com/article/rs-601…
