Wow. BofA's monthly survey of fund managers says a net 36% are underweight U.S. equities, the most in two years. Sounds like a buy signal. bit.ly/4jqtH9q

Fed's Powell: "Tariffs are highly likely to generate at least a temporary rise in inflation."

Fed's Powell: waiting to see what the ultimate policy on tariffs will be, and then can make a better assessment of the economic effects.

Fed's Powell: in the long run, technology has raised productivity and living standards. Hard to say if AI will result in an increase in productivity or that it replaces a lot of people.

$KMB down 3% as it cuts profit forecast on tariffs: "the current environment will now mean greater costs across our global supply chain versus our expectations at the beginning of the year." Expect tariffs to result in approximately $300 million of additional costs this year.

Cyberattacks against brokerage firms in Japan, very alarming. The hackers were able to break into accounts, push up penny stocks in a pump and dump scheme, in trades totaling approx. $710 million since February 2025. Very sophisticated attack. bit.ly/4cUiL20

Fed's Powell: if the Fed's dual mandate [maximum employment, stable prices] was in tension, the Fed "would consider how far the economy is from each goal"..."I don't think we can say which way this will shake out...it's too early to know that."

Fed's Powell: "The economy is doing fairly well...the costs of waiting to see are fairly low."

Markets coming off highs as Fed's Powell saying Fed is not a position to preemptively cut interest rates. Many want the Fed to be preemptive, but 1) data does not support a cut yet, and 2) Fed's inflation fighting credibility has been eroded, remember inflation is "transitory."
