The Edmonton Oilers Evan Bouchard is the 3rd highest-scoring Defenceman in the NHL over the last 2 seasons (C. Makar, Q. Hughes) with 32-117-149/163GP/+48. Strong possession metrics as well. He’s a keeper!

The Edmonton Oilers open up enough Cap Space (approximately 4.5M) to potentially add a middle-6 winger that can chip in some offence.

Andrew Mangiapane scored 35 goals with Calgary in 2021-22. Was 5th in TOI on both the Flames PP and PK amongst FWDs in his final 3 seasons in Calgary. Will get an extended look in the Edmonton Oilers top -6 . Had offers North of 4M AAV.

Curtis Lazar returns to Oil Country! Key part of the Edmonton Oil Kings 2014 Memorial Cup win. Hard-working, honest right-shot Center (51.2% on face-offs last season). Slots in as a 4C for the Edmonton Oilers who can PK as well.

Not surprisingly Edmonton Oilers prospect Matt Savoie stood out at Development Camp. He had 19-35-54/66/+21 for the Bakersfield Condors last season playing 20 mins a game including time on PP1 and PK2. The 21 year-old is a LOCK to be in EDM’s top-9 next season IMO

Stan Bowman the Edmonton Oilers GM has been working on this trade for weeks. Isaac Howard finished 3rd in NCAA goals last season, and led the Nation in P/PG (1.41). Oilers move a solid prospect in O’Reilly who projected as a 3C for a scoring winger who will be in EDM in ‘25-‘26

Stauffer Projected Edmonton Oilers Howard-McDavid-Hyman Podkolzon-Draisaitl-Mangiapane Frederic-RNH-Savoie Janmark-Henrique-Kapanen Lazar-Tomasek Ekholm-Bouchard Nurse-Walman Kulak-Emberson Stecher Skinner Pickard (subject to change 😉)

Thank you, Ike The Edmonton Oilers are getting a player with unmatched work ethic and dedication #GoGreen

The biggest wildcard for the upcoming season for the Edmonton Oilers is David Tomasek. Not sure how his game will translate to the NHL. Teams tried to sign him in the Spring of 2024 after he led the SHL in goals with 25. Led the SHL last season in points with 24-33-57 in 47 GP.

One player who I think can make a successful jump to the NHL this season is Matt Savoie. Fifth in AHL Rookie scoring last season with 54 points... led all AHL rookies with a +21. Wins puck battles on the wall. Can PK. Quick. Will add speed to the Edmonton Oilers top-9

Would expect Paul McFarland to run the Edmonton Oilers PP and for Mark Stuart to continue to run the PK. Peter Aubry known for having an inclusive approach as a Goalie Coach

The Edmonton Oilers with a heavy road schedule to start the season. 17 of EDM's first 26 games on the road. 5-Game Road Trip in Oct. 7-Game Road Trip in Nov. Will not play a game in the Eastern Time Zone in the 2nd Half of the Season. EDM 4th with 23 road wins last season.
