@bonesmoses

An old tech geek with too many cats. I'm a PostgreSQL author, speaker, and fanatic. I play too many video games, and tinker with clusters to keep learning.

Back in those days, we used things like Watchdog, Pacemaker, Keepalived, and various custom stacks beyond that. Also, this was usually before systemd, so relying on the system service to keep things running wasn't really something people did.

This is still one of my favorite presentations. Semantic search is what I always wanted full-text search to be, and the ability to "chat with your document archive" through RAG techniques will always be cool. You don't even have to dial out to OpenAI to do it!

Sometimes I wonder what the point of "typed" languages is when you have to resort to this kind of modem line noise to effectively circumvent it. Even function overloads are better than this.

Don't put your images in a completely unsecured publicly facing image bucket. I imagine every CSE is like this right now.

I maxed out INT but doing so required several negative traits to trade against CHR, CON, and STR. All mage glass cannon, baby!

My DNA profile says I have basically no German ancestry, yet I'll throw down for sauerkraut. My God, all this post did was remind me that I haven't had any in a while and I suddenly need some.

I bought a mower to save the cost of a lawn service a while back. I went electric because every gas mower I've ever used vibrates like hell and really aggravates my wrist issues from years of typing. I now have an arsenal of EGO tools with universal batteries that work great.
