Huge thanks to Mary Ann Sieghart for quoting End Sexism In Schools's research revealing the lack of female writers taught in schools in today's The Guardian. Teaching boys that women's words aren't worth reading means they grow into men who believe the same. We have to change the narrative!

Important piece from Kasia Delgado in The i Paper about the pervasive influence that Andre Tate is having in schools. Interesting to hear from teachers about how they are working to address it on the ground. There’s an important bit missing. Tackling sexism in the curriculum. 1/

Our children are mainly studying men. Only 2% of GCSE students study a book written by a female author. Thanks to The Guardian for featuring our brand new research, launched today. Find out more here: bit.ly/3kBmBq5 theguardian.com/education/2023…

According to End Sexism In Schools, only 2% of #GCSE students study a novel by a female author, 67% of texts for modern literature are by male authors, and 69% have male protagonists. If we are going to prepare students for the future, we should let go of the past. #FeministFriday

#PSHE is part of the solution, not THE solution. PSHE can't be the only time schools talk to pupils about #misogyny, #sexualharassment and #sexism. Looking forward to hearing more about addressing misogyny in the #curriculum from End Sexism In Schools #MisogynyinSchools
