To think beyond our school walls second graders went to the ocean today to learn how coding can help create new ways to clean our oceans and tried it out themselves too.

And that’s a wrap on this years news program. Always a joy to get to hang out with my sixth graders each year. So glad that they aren’t too cool to hang with their librarian. Tomorrow another crew promotes and leaves. 8 years of news crews I’ve had the joy of serving 😄

It took us two years worth of coding instruction but these amazing second graders took their ScratchJr skills to the next level and spent their final library class coding video games. Nothing beats a joyful kid who just built their own cactus jumper FCPS STEAM FCPS Library Program

Well that happened fast 😂. Ready to be a servant leader for our newly rechartered family pack. My youngest joins us next year as a lion. She can’t wait to be just like her brother. And camping. So much camping!!!

It’s a fishing kind of summer. How many fish can we catch in a week? 13. Give ‘em a kiss and send them back. This girly is becoming quite the fisherwoman. Love our Fairfax County Parks!

Summer camp fun for this webelos and his Cubmaster (and mom) 😄. This year he took such great joy in showing me truly who he was. Passing the full swim test. Climbing the rock wall. And basically just being independent. Love this amazing boy!
