Inspiring the next generation of biologists! Today our group member Clare Andvik held a presentation at the Universitetet i Oslo open day about what it is like to study Department of Biosciences, University of Oslo at @unioslo_mn - and specifically her research on killer whales and pollutants. Lots of interested students!

Gender reveal!🥳🐳 Psyched that a causal lunchtime chat with Adam Warner Raincoast Conservation Foundation at #PSEC ended with us determining sex in ALL our Norwegian orca samples today! 🤩🐳 Sneaky subadults - your secret is out! 😏😆 So cool to get value from every tiny leftover DNA!🤩 Thank you!🙏

Big congratulations Amalie for your excellent master defense today Katrine Borgå Borgå Ecotox Research Group Department of Biosciences, University of Oslo Conducting a long term 3-stressor experiment with Arctic zooplankton was fascinating but highly challenging. You made it all!! The Nansen Legacy

All samples for this cool work were collected by #norwegianorcasurvey as part of our Norges forskningsråd funded project MULTIWHALE Department of Biosciences, University of Oslo Borgå Ecotox Research Group 🐳🐳🐳

Attention UiO friends! Universitetet i Oslo MN Faculty: Research @unioslo_mn Department of Biosciences, University of Oslo Don't miss Leanne Rosser Leanne Rosser talking about her dolphin research in Japan, and this >> cool paper tomorrow at the AQUA/CEES double seminar! 13:15-15:00 in room 4426, Kristine Bonnevies hus 🐬

Great talk today by Khuong V. Dinh from Department of Biosciences, University of Oslo at the The Nansen Legacy Symposium in Tromsø. Khuong Dinh talked about "Seasonal and Climate Change Effects on Pollution Accumulation and Effects in the Arctic Marine Food Web": nansenlegacy-symposium.com/program/progra…

We acknowledge the support of the Norges forskningsråd for their support our master student, Sophie Albertsen, for a newly approved Arctic Field Grant!

In this ES&T study, Clare Andvik, Katrine Borgå and team at Department of Biosciences, University of Oslo Universitetet i Oslo investigate the intercorrelations of chlorinated parrafins, dechloranes, and legacy #PersistentOrganicPollutants in different marine mammal species. #bioaccumulation #OpenAccess: go.acs.org/av8

🚨 New paper alert 🚨🥳🙌 We measured pollution levels in 10 species of marine mammals from Norway 🐳🐬🦭 See our video for the “general public” study summary 🫶 & keep reading ⬇️ for more details 🤓 #Openaccess Environmental Science & Technology Journals go.acs.org/av8 #norwegianorcasurvey

This project was funded by Klima- og miljødep’s #Arktis2030 programme and was a collaboration between Universitetet i Oslo Department of Biosciences, University of Oslo , #norwegianorcasurvey , @UniNMBU , @NILU_now and Havforskningsinstituttet .
