Mauler mauled? #OTD in 1920 HW king Jack Dempsey reportedly had to quit a sparring session with MW star Harry Greb after sustaining an eye injury. The lively "bout" occurred at the Van Kelton Stadium in NYC. A left hook from Greb, or possibly a clash of heads, caused the injury.

Harry Greb beat Tommy Gibbons via a 10-round newspaper decision at Forbes Field in Pittsburgh #OTD in 1920, avenging two previous losses inflicted by Gibbons. The win would form part of a 56-bout unbeaten streak for Greb and was Gibbons' first defeat in nine years of fighting.
