This interesting article reports the co-occurrence of Down Syndrome and multiple sclerosis is much lower than would be expected and speculates there could be a protective effect of amyloid precursor protein (APP) and S100 calcium-binding protein B (S100B) jstage.jst.go.jp/article/ejmj/7…

rituximab vs. mavenclad for multiple sclerosis. This retrospective observational study found MRI activity was much lower in those receiving rituximab (17% vs 57% over a median follow up of 4.5 years), but side effects more common with rituximab pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40415655/

Does ocrevus work in pediatric MS? This case series (n= 24) showed low rates of relapses (0.08 per person per year). Disability as measured by EDSS stabilized in 75% and improved in 16.7% pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40435665/

A 39 year old woman with multiple sclerosis came to the emergency room with fatigue, nausea, fever, leg tremors, and frequent urination. Laboratory testing showed THIS. What happened?

Beware of low antibodies as a complication of b-cell depleters. This is a case report of a 34 year old man on ocrevus for MS who developed catatonia and fever. MRI showed symmetrical thalamic lesions. He had enterovirus encephalitis. IgG was 4.92 g/L neurology.org/doi/10.1212/WN…
