Brilliant to be able to share our vision for making a big impact on the often tiny (but v. important) species of the Brecks with Natural England Tony Juniper yesterday. Nature recovery and food production will go hand in hand to deliver at scale in our #LandscapeRecovery project
The Breckland Farmers Wildlife Network is a great example of how food production and #LandscapeRecovery can go hand in hand. Our Chair Tony Juniper visited Norfolk last week to meet the farmers and Natural England advisers who are working together to restore nature. brecklandfarmerswildlifenetwork.org
Following his recent visit to us, it was great to hear Tony Juniper mention Breckland Farmers on R4 Today last Friday! Full interview starts here, with BFWN shout out at 2:18 bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0…
And what a beautiful Brecks day it was to show @HillFT around lead farmer Richard Evans' farm Farming Today
Read why cultivated margins are so important and how we're using them to create a habitat corridor across the Brecks in Farmers Weekly by Louise Impey. We're very lucky to have the support of brilliant experts ArableEmily #formerlyknownasweeds, Plantlife Jo Jones & our own farmer John Secker.
We're very lucky to have had the support of an experienced and passionate local Natural England team from the early days of BFWN. Trying something different is daunting, so it's great to hear that our #LandscapeRecovery project BrecksNature is on the right track!
Brilliant example of right place and right establishment with this first year cultivated margin providing a turtle dove and arable plant paradise - well done Frederick Hiam Ltd
Only Carl Sayer Prof Carl Sayer and Hayley could lead such an inspiring farm walk about ponds without a drop of water in site. Great to be reminded of how valuable even temporary ponds are for wildlife.
Brilliant to talk all things nature and farming with Kevin Cox and our hero Robert Hawkes. Always great to be able to fly the flag for arable species and the importance of farming and farmers in their conservation. We can’t wait to see the book when it’s published.
