Today is #ShroveTuesday which gave residents and colleagues at Brendoncare Alton the perfect excuse to try out their new pancake maker. Looks like everyone was having fun and the pancakes were absolutely delicious!

The nights may still be frosty, but the bright sunshine is a true sign that Spring is on its way. Residents, colleagues and volunteers from Brendoncare Otterbourne Hill made the most of the fine weather with a visit to Winchester, including a walk along the river.

They had a flipping marvellous time at Brendoncare Knightwood on Shrove Tuesday. The pancakes made by the brilliant chef went down a treat and some residents could not resist having a go at flipping them.

It was St Patrick's Day yesterday and our care homes had fun celebrating. Froxfield made shamrocks from buttons, Knightwood enjoyed quizzing and Otterbourne Hill wore their leprechaun hats as they made fresh fruit salad for #Hydration&NutritionWeek.

This week is Nutrition and Hydration Week. Residents at Brendoncare Alton had a fun time making delicious smoothies using different combinations of fruits and ingredients, all packed with fantastic nutritional benefits. Cheers!

It was Wellness Day at Brendoncare Froxfield yesterday where they embraced relaxation and rejuvenation through reflexology and Reiki. It was the perfect opportunity to unwind and take some special moments for self-care.

Yesterday was the first day of Spring, bringing with it lovely warm sunshine. The maintenance team at Brendoncare Knightwood ensured the residents made the most of it by setting up the outdoor furniture so they could also enjoy a game of al fresco Scrabble.

Our four legged friends have many health-giving benefits including relieving stress, lifting moods, even prompting precious memories of past pets. Adorable therapy dog Callie and owner Amie from Canine Concern brought much happiness when they visited Brendoncare Froxfield.

Our care homes love working on projects especially when they involve young people. Students from Thornden School in Chandlers Ford currently visit Brendoncare Otterbourne Hill when they get together on their Inside Out project. Yesterday, they were painting garden bird boxes.

Things got very wild at Brendoncare Froxfield thanks to a visit from Feathers Fangs and Furries. Residents and staff made some new and very scaly friends - including Monty the python who was surprisingly cuddly and Godzilla the bearded dragon, who thankfully didn’t breathe fire!

It has been lovely to see our care homes busy making eggs-citing things for Easter next weekend. Here are our lovely Brendoncare Alton residents making some cracking eggs and pretty pom poms to brighten the care home.

It was the turn of Brendoncare Knightwood to show off their Easter artistic skills under the guidance of Alison from CreativeMojo who helped everyone make this lovely piece of Easter artwork. Everybody had an eggs-cellent time painting eggs, chicks, bunnies and flowers.

This week is #NationalGardeningWeek. With the coming of the sunshine, residents and colleagues at Brendoncare Froxfield have been busy outside with their trowels, planting flowers in the hanging baskets and raised beds, making the care home beautiful for the spring and summer.

The glories of the garden are something we all love and cherish here at Brendoncare. With the gorgeous sunshine and this being #NationalGardeningWeek, our residents at Brendoncare Alton made the most of both. That wisteria is absolutely beautiful.

Members of Brendoncare Otterbourne Hill's Social Club picked the perfect day for an afternoon visit to the allotment. They were amazed by the produce and plants. As well as looking at the fruits of the volunteers' labours, there was also tea, cake - and fantastic company.
