From my lunchtime walk in Dublin Docklands today - really pleased to see Meredon equestris / Narcissus Bulb hoverfly and a Megachile Bee. Plus, Aceria cephalonea (?) gall mites on Sycamore, a Froghopper and Oedemera lurida/virescens beetle. #urbannature

Small Angle Shades moth from the trap yesterday morning. Last seen here in 2017 so I’m delighted to see it again! The ‘squares’ appear to be golden! #teammoth

Small Eggar caterpillars on their web and branching out all over the little Willow tree, locally in Laois. Quite a rare species in Ireland, I’ve seen caterpillars before but never an adult. #teammoth

Can you find a wild or naturalised (like the Crown Vetch pictured) member of the Pea Family? That’s the challenge this week from #WildflowerHour. Share your finds for the magic hour this Sunday 8-9pm. Hap(pea) flower hunting! 🫛😀

I thought the holes in the Damson leaves looked interesting, turning the leaf over, I found a Magpie Moth caterpillar - you can just see its head through the smaller hole! #teammoth
