Government intervention to save jobs at Prax Lindsey is the right thing to do. The government should have done the same for Grangemouth. A disgraceful industrial decision, shameful double standards Ed Miliband Keep Grangemouth Working Unite For A Workers' Economy

The “private company” excuse didn’t seem to apply to Prax Lindsey. Government ministers really did leave “no stone unturned” for Prax & Scunthorpe. That’s the right to do. But I am disgusted at the hypocrisy & double standards because the same didn’t happen for Grangemouth.

In today’s Sunday Mail I say austerity, a pandemic and an ongoing cost of living crisis has led to rising poverty, deep inequality and decreased living standards. People need a government to live true Labour Party values to make things better.

A wealth tax would help us invest in public services, rebuild the country and tackle poverty. It’s also popular. theguardian.com/politics/2025/…

I agree with POA Prison officers should not be working at 68 years of age. In fact, no worker should! Today in Parliament, I highlighted that this horrendous Tory policy should be scrapped.

A United Nations panel has criticised the welfare cuts proposals and said that they will increase poverty rates. The United Nations. These cuts will devastate. I will not support them. theguardian.com/society/2025/j…

Good to join other Labour MPs earlier today in meeting with disability rights campaigners before this afternoon’s welfare debate. Later, MPs will vote on whether to cut £3,000 a year from 750,000 disabled people or not. I will vote against these awful cuts.

I was proud to walk through the voting lobby with 48 Labour MP colleagues tonight. We know that an alternative to cuts is needed. A different way is possible.

Glaucoma can be symptomless and I was lucky to be diagnosed before it was too late. Please, everyone, go and get yourself eyes tested for the condition. Last week was Glaucoma Awareness Week and as someone with the condition, here’s my story 👇

Keir Starmer promised one of his first acts would be to introduce the Hillsborough Law. He hasn't – so I have. Tomorrow the Government could block this Bill, or get behind it. Sign my petition calling on the Prime Minister to keep his promise: actionnetwork.org/petitions/pass…

The construction of camps called “humanitarian transit areas” where persecuted people are not allowed to leave. History shows us exactly what such places are. Crimes against humanity are happening for everyone to see.

It’s just over a year since the people of Alloa & Grangemouth elected me to be their MP. It’s the best job in the world. There’s been thousands of cases, campaign emails & enquiries & it’s been terrific to meet so many inspirational people that do so much for our communities.
