Looks like 44 women will be elected - 25% of all 174. An increase, but nowhere near where we need to be. Lots of discussion needed as to why the quota requirement is not resulting in the required numbers being elected to reflect the community. Women for Election #votemorewomen

So Ireland joins Samoa, Indonesia & DRC in the club of countries where only 20% of Cabinet members are women (UNwomen.org). Meanwhile, our neighbours in Finland, Belgium, Portugal, Norway, Iceland, Netherlands & Spain, all have gender balanced Cabinets (at least 50%).
