The BTNF began prescribed fire operations on Munger Mountain south of Jackson yesterday. Fire managers estimate approximately 45 acres were burned amidst persisting patches of snow, which allowed for a desired mosaic pattern of burned and burned areas.

Fire managers treated 455 acres in Star Valley amongst persisting patches of snow last week, creating a mosaic pattern in burned areas. #PrescribedFire will continue this spring across the Forest as weather conditions allow. Learn more: inciweb.wildfire.gov #BTNF

The BTNF is planning to continue with prescribed fire operations on Munger Mountain south of Jackson today. Fire managers are planning to begin ignitions around mid-day with smoke likely visible throughout the afternoon.
