@JICAUganda, @UNHCRUganda, Office of the Prime Minister - Uganda, SOLTILO Bright Stars FC, & other partners hosted a football event in Palorinya Refugee Settlement in Obongi district, to mark #WorldRefugeeDay. The event aimed at promoting peace and solidarity with refugees, women’s empowerment & refugee resilience.

Refugees, host communities came together for a day of football and advocacy, during which, JICA's Chief Representative Mr. Inoue Yoichi highlighted ongoing projects in West Nile like Eco-PRiDe & SUNReC, boosting self-reliance & coexistence. #WithRefugees #WRD2025

The football event was a powerhouse of talent & solidarity, where 45 girls (16–19 yrs) from refugee/host communities trained, played and dreamed big. Since 2021, @JICAUganda & SOLTILO Bright Stars FC have held 16 football events across 🇺🇬, engaging hundreds of young women.

SOLTILO Bright Stars FC Beyond the matches, scouts identified talent (15 girls) for the upcoming TICAD CUP women's tournament happening later this year. All 45 participants received gifts, football jerseys donated by Chifure AS Elfen Saitama, a WEリーグ｜日本女子プロサッカーリーグ team.
