Abdullahi Farah founded the Bristol Somali Resource Centre 15 years ago. It now supports over 2,000 people every year. I was honoured to meet him this morning, as part of a project I’m doing with Quartet CF.

We have yesterday taken our community female elders to Blaise View Castle Estate Park. They really enjoyed the green landscape, museum, good walk, picnic & gentle exercise, followed by guided meditation and mindfulness. We finally made the time to sit down for nice afternoon tea.

On Friday we welcomed Tom Goodfellow and researchers from Urban Studies and Planning at Sheffield University to hear local Somalis' experiences of life in our city. Their voices will help identify the most important questions for understanding the needs, challenges and triumphs of our Somali community.
