It's Car Free Day, a worldwide event that encourages using alternative ways of transportation instead of cars. As part of Briya's commitment to sustainability, last week we encouraged our staff to take the Car Free pledge, a Washington, DC community initiative! #CarFreeDay

Thank you to leaders from NCFL, Kentucky Adult Education, Amped, and OSSE for visiting us yesterday! We enjoyed discussing the impact of #2gen education, and the practices, policies, and funding needed to make it successful.

Briya staff members Stephanie and Shiela were grateful to participate #LaClinicaSummit last week with @LaClinica2 and many others who use diverse approaches to support immigrant health in the District.

We had an amazing time sharing a table with Briya PCS at the Annual Latino Conference on Disabilities! 🎉 Briya provides free job certification programs and English classes for DC residents, helping families build a brighter future. 🌟

We enjoyed hosting over 15 orgs for a visit focused on the benefits of nature-based learning and policies that promote it. Thanks to Children and Nature Network, National League of Cities, @NaturalStart, Trust for Learning, NIEER & National Wildlife Federation Early Childhood Outdoors for convening!

Today Briya staff member Beth testified @CouncilofDC in support of the Vocational Ed for a New Generation Act of 2024, with key expansions in dual-enrollment opportunities and the inclusion of adult learners in non-Perkins-funded programs. @chmnMendelson

Briya workforce grad Patience testified @CouncilofDC on the importance of adult charter schools in DC’s career & tech ed landscape: “I am living proof that, with the right environment and support, adult learners can achieve their goals and transform their lives.” @chmnMendelson

Thanks to Ascend at the Aspen Institute for inviting us to participate in the Aspen ThinkXChange: The National Forum on 2Gen Approaches, which brought together two-gen leaders from across the nation to discuss policies and practices to promote intergenerational well-being.

We were delighted to have hosted a Collaboration for DC Immigrant Families event last week! Over 90 participants from 58 organizations, schools, and government agencies came together to share resources and strengthen support for immigrant families.
