Year 5 work on calculating pi by hand, in preparation for the Moon Pi mission. Successful calculations will allow pupils’ names to be placed onto a real-life moon rover, launched by Astrobotic Technology. We have also applied for a space selfie from CrunchLabs. #BromsMaths

Rosa F (Year 5) brought in her theremin today to demonstrate its unique features. She confidently explained that it is one of the only instruments you can play without touching it. (1/2) #BromsYr5 #BromsMusic

(2/2) Rosa shared that the theremin uses antennas to create electric fields, and moving your hands near them alters these fields to change the sound. Pupils experimented with how hand movements affect pitch and volume - one hand controls each. #BromsYr5 #BromsMusic
