Today is World Tree Kangaroo Day! Celebrate with a visit to JungleWorld to discover our Matschie’s tree kangaroos. See how much our youngest kangaroo, born in December 2023, has grown. It’s almost impossible to believe that he used to fit inside his mom’s pouch.

Our bird keepers have been hard at work banding our newly hatched scarlet ibis chicks! Fun fact, 174 scarlet ibis chicks have hatched at the Bronx Zoo since 2000, with 40 of them hatching in the last five years. Visit them today in the Aquatic Bird House! 📸: Keeper Leela

It’s #WorldSeaLion Day! California sea lions have been at the heart of the Bronx Zoo since we opened in 1899. They are also the only species we have in all 5 parks. Join us on Astor Court at 3 pm daily for a sea lion feeding and to learn more about these charismatic pinnipeds.
