Congratulations to our 17u Rockets for being the BlueStar black division league champions. This was their first year in the program. They went an amazing 7-1. 29-7 for the season with one final event still to come in Minnesota Great work ladies, so proud of you Blue Star Basketball

Here is my schedule this weekend for the USJN Windy City Classic!

The Illinois Rockets 17 Blue Star squad went 3-1 at the USJN Windy City Classic.  They sit in 2nd place in the Gold Division of the Blue Star League.

Rockets 17 Red went 5-0 at the Prime Event Midwest tourney, winning their 4 pool championship. Playing with only 6, these warriors competed with toughness, heart and skill - Players were Sofia Corral, Riley Cwinski, Brooke Bafia, Sofia O’Sullivan, Marley Carbonaro & Kaidyn King.

The 17 Red Illinois Rockets dropped a close one on the main court at Grand Valley State, 43-37, to the Michigan Mystics. Riley Cwinski led the way with 18 pts and 5 rbs while Sofia Corral added 9 pts, 5 rbs and 2 steals. Brooke Bafia snagged 4 steals.

17 red squad beat pink elite national 56-29. Riley Cwinski had 18 pts Lily Newton had 15 pts and Sofia Corral had 14 points. Marley Carbonaro, Brooke Bafia and Sofia O’Sullivan play great defense while Kaidyn King played a wonderful floor game and also locked down her opponent.

17 BlueStar triumphed over the Dayton Lady Hoopstars, 60-46, to post a 6-0 record at USJN March to the Arch. Rockets were led by Riley Cwinski, Sofia Corral and Kaidyn King with 18, 14 and 10 points, respectively. Lily Newton 7pts & snagged 8RBs & Brooke Bafia 7pts, 3stl & 3RBs

In a barn burner, the 17 Blue Star Rockets squad dropped a close one to WI Legends, 48-44. Rockets were led by Sofia Corral with 19 pts, 5 RBs and 3 steals. Riley Cwinski added 10 pts and 4 RBs while Brooke Bafia tossed in 8 pts, grabbed 6 RBs and snagged 3 steals.

The Illinois Rockets 17 Blue Star played, arguably, their best game of the season as they bested Heart of Illinois, 61-55. Riley Cwinski 21pts, 4 asts, Sofia Corral 16pts, 5 assists, Lily Newton 14 pts. Brooke Bafia 7 pts, 7 RBs and Sofia O’Sullivan 5 RBs and dishing out 3 asts

Sofia Corral had 17 pts, 4 RBs and 2 assists. Riley Cwinski added 10 pts, 3 RBs and 2 assists, while Brooke Bafia tossed in 9 big pts and 6 RBs. Lily Newton had 8 pts, took 2 charges and had 3 steals. Sofia Sullivan added 6 pts and 6 RBs to the winning cause.
