A core part of Friday’s visit from the Irish Delegation was a fascinating Round Table discussion, focusing on Housing, Urban Development and Light Rail 🇮🇪🤝🇬🇧 Sharing ideas & experiences like this helps us all build stronger, more sustainable cities for the future 🏙️

It was a joy to attend the Service of Welcome for The Right Reverend Esther Prior as the new Bishop of Aston. A momentous occasion for our city and the Church — wishing Bishop Esther every success in her new role. #BishopOfAston #Birmingham 🙏⛪

Today I will have the honour of reading The Kohima Epitaph at Birmingham’s VE Day Service lead by Lord Mayor of Birmingham and The Bishop of Birmingham. The Kohima is a prayer for peace and an act of remembrance for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Today, on #VEDay, we celebrate, but also remember the courage, sacrifice & resilience shown by so many — in Birmingham & beyond — who gave everything for the peace we cherish today. Let us honour their legacy, share their stories, and stand together in unity. 🎖️🇬🇧 #LestWeForget

This morning I had the honour of leading the #VEDay80 Service at the Hall of Memory, after a procession from the Council House to Centenary Square. Thank you to all who joined us in remembrance. We will remember them. #LestWeForget 🇬🇧

This #VEDay, I had the great honour of visiting St Bernard’s Care Home to present Doris Carroll—aged 103—with the Association of Female Munitions Workers Badge. A true Brummie, Doris served at BSA in Small Heath during WWII. Her resilience & service will never be forgotten. 💐🇬🇧
