The Prime Minister today spoke at a summit about refugee children he met years ago in the camps around Calais, living in horrendous conditions. Yet he failed again to ask the most important question – how will governments provide protection for these children and refugees?

The U.K. stopped processing asylum claims from Syrians at the end of 2024, when there were 5698 Syrians in the asylum system. Almost six months on and that number will be far higher now to account for new arrivals. Just sitting there, waiting, life on hold. No end date.

These are the unsafe conditions refugees are forced to live under in Home Office accommodations. But these attacks did not happen in a vacuum. It's a result of the constant demonisation of refugees. We won't stand for it. Hate against refugees should never be tolerated.

The step-up in anti-migrant rhetoric from the government is shameful and dangerous. Migrants are our neighbours, friends and family. To suggest that Britain risks becoming “an island of strangers” because of immigration mimics the scaremongering of the far-right.

Another person has died in the Channel this morning, and at least 7 more injured. This afternoon MPs debate Nadia Whittome MP’s amendment that will require government to produce stats on the numbers of lives lost at our border and under the care of the asylum system.

An 'island of strangers'? That doesn't sound like the Britain we know. Migrants are our families, our friends, our neighbours, our colleagues. Our lives and our history are built on migration - attacking it means attacking us, our loved ones, our communities, and our economy.

The Home Office talking about "clamping down" on asylum is appalling. They either don't understand the law or don't care about it - it's hard to say which is worse. Everyone has the human right to seek asylum. Entering a country in order to ask for protection is never illegal.

The ‘news’ piece exploring the ‘distribution’ of people seeking asylum in Chester. There are 655 people seeking asylum in the region currently, in a population of over 350K. They’re a fragile lot these anti migrant extremists.

Our campaign champions for Send My Friend gave a passionate talk today asking our MP Laurence Turner to give more aid to countries where millions of children don’t get an education- especially girls. He listened and gave them a detailed answer. They will meet him again in parliament
