Thrilled to announce that tomorrow our gardens open once again. Initially welcoming our members and their guests (please join us!), we’re firing up the woodfired pizza oven for picnics, and have masses of stunning plants propagated in our nursery for sale. So exciting!

A trestle of Streptocarpus propagated from leaf cuttings in our nursery. We’re offering a plant to new members and to existing members who introduce a friend to us. Much favoured here for the colour they splash onto the Hall’s tabletops and windowsills, this is our thank you.

Continued our tour of the most glorious gardens of East Yorkshire this weekend with a day Burton Agnes Hall, Gardens & Jazz & Blues Festival - The hall itself is still closed but the grounds are beautiful, especially the huge walled garden. You can also get into the original Norman manor house there...

Getting excited about our half term Halloween Trail. Spooky (socially distanced) fun outdoors here, 23rd Oct - 1st Nov daily 11-4. Decipher spooky clues among dramatic, hand-crafted scenes, hunt for the Seven Spooky Sacks & romp in the woodland adventure playground...if you dare!

Our grounds open on Saturday, daily 11am-3pm, for local outdoor recreation. It’s very autumnal here; join us for peaceful wildlife-spotting, leaf-kicking strolls. Please book tickets via burtonagnes.digitickets.co.uk/tickets to ensure admission. Burton Agnes Hall members may come & go freely.

This morning’s mist clouds the salvias. Tomorrow we open to wanderers and wonderers seeking peace in the great autumnal outdoors. Today for us is all about preparation.

A huge, hand carved candy cane, high in a berried woodland holly bush. We’ll hang 23 more once the paint’s dried - each with a different design. This is a preview of our outdoor advent opening, starting on Tuesday. Tickets are available now on our website. bit.ly/3qcdSsv

Find 24 giant candy canes – for each day of advent – each carved and painted with a different design. They’re hooked on tree branches on the edge of the woodland path directly behind the house. All outside, in wheelchair- and pushchair-accessible places, to form a trail.

Deck the Hall! We’ve brought our natural schemes, crafted using flowers & foliage from the garden, to the windows. We do hope you’ll find joy and inspiration in our ideas. Open 11am daily ‘til 23rd December. Last admissions 4pm; we close at 5pm.
