St Blane's Church near the southern end of the Isle of Bute (Scotland) The church fell into disuse after the Reformation and most of the remains of the nave and the chancel you see today date back to the 1100s. Undiscovered Scotland info & image turned into a Gif.

Back to Doddington and Horton Moors, Wooler, Northumberland for #HillfortsWednesday. The rather obscured Fox Covert #IronAge defended settlement is lurking under there somewhere. #Archaeology with #Lidar

#OTD in 1652, the first 'Great Fire of Glasgow'. It began in a house above Glasgow Cross, before consuming much of Saltmarket, Briggait, Gallowgate and Trongate. The inferno destroyed nearly a third of the city's buildings, leaving a thousand families homeless.
