It was a beautiful day Uganda Hotel Owners Association when HE Amb Paul Mukumbya of the Uganda Consulate Mombasa paid a courtesy visit to thank UHOA for the great working relationship and formally invite our members for this year’s UG-KE coast conference in Mombasa in Nov.

I am proud to see how Namugongo has grown, with the Shrine gaining international recognition and attracting over 3 million tourists for this particular event. However, we need to reorganize. It shouldn't be just a one-day event; we need to develop a year-round Martyrs' trail. -

Namugongo, as a holy ground, is a gold mine for religious tourism. To maximize its potential, we must prioritize proper infrastructure, clean facilities, and smooth traffic flow. Business people should be supported with licenses, and an investment plan should be developed.

We’re live in Hoima!! This week our CEO Jean Byamugisha opened the new UHOA office Hoima Resort Hotel to coordinate the new apprenticeship program in the region. We were honored to host the Lord Mayor as well visit the #MBS hotel training institute.

Our CEO Jean Byamugisha with partners Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, UGANDA HOTEL AND TOURISM TRAINING INSTITUTE, Be Better Academy & Enabel in Uganda is currently conducting interviews for the 1st cohort of 750 young people from Albertine & Rwenzori regions to be trained in the hotel sector over the next 3yrs.

Our CEO Jean Byamugisha is in Addis Ababa for the launch of the IGAD Sustainable Tourism Masterplan as part of the delegation comprised of the Ministry of Tourism-Uganda and Uganda Tourism Board. They paid a courtesy call on H.E the Ambassador Uganda Embassy Addis Ababa.
