We had a fantastic day today with teachers from Highland. We tried out lots of practical activities to aid understanding of Plate Tectonics, Volcanoes and Earthquakes. Thanks to Charleston Academy Humanities Faculty at Charleston Academy, Inverness for hosting and to all the teachers for their enthusiasm!

Today, Charleston Academy hosted GeoBus and Highland geography teachers for GeoBus training on plate tectonics, earthquakes and volcanoes. Below shows how to model convection currents to BGE pupils! A brilliant day and a huge thank you to all involved!

Higher geography classes spent today revising population structures of developing nations this morning using Lego and whiteboards - reminding themselves of the reasons we see this happening.

One of the Higher Geography classes made edible soils in class today - they used food ingredients they made great examples of podzol, Gley and brown earth soils before peer assessing each others attempts. Well done, all!
